RemObjects Software is a software company registered in the United States and Curaçao with employees worldwide. We host our main website (remobjects.com) and related product sites, as well as our discussion forum (talk.remobjects.com), and provide software products that our users install on their local computers.
We may collect data about you in the following scenarios:
When you visit our website or online forum, we use cookies, server logs, and other methods to collect data about what pages you visit, for analytics purposes. This data is collected in (temporary) server logs and (anonymized) via Google Analytics.

When signing up for an account on our website, we collect and store your real name, an optional user name, and your email address.

For participating in the online forum, you can optionally choose a different user name and upload an account picture. You may also optionally provide additional information about yourself (such as a short biography, your location or your birthday) on the Profile Settings page for your account.
During the online purchasing process, we collect your payment information, including Credit Card number and associated name and address. This information is passed directly from your browser to the credit card merchant. It is not accessible to us and is not collected or archived by us in any form.
For product licensing, we connect orders and licenses to your account on this site. When you download products or licenses, these are checked and validated against the licenses active in your account.
Our forum uses the same account information and associates posts, replies and other forum activity to that account.

For the online forums, we store the the content of your posts and about other activity on the forums, in order to share that data with fellow participants through the forum. If the forum is public, your your activity will be visible to all users; if the forum is access-restricted, or access restrictions apply to the specific post, your activity will be available only to the other users who have access to the respective forums.
We also collect data about private messages that you send through the forum. We make private messages available to senders and their recipients, to forum administrators, and to RemObjects support staff as needed.
We store your posts and other activity as long as your account remains open, and we store public posts indefinitely.
For the online forums, you can make choices about how data about is used on the settings page for your account. When a forum uses access restrictions that vary by category, you can choose who will see your post by choosing the appropriate category.
All our data is stored on the Amazon Web Service cloud platform on servers located in the United States and elsewhere.
RemObejcts Software respects privacy rights under Regulation (EU) 2016/679, the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Information that GDPR requires RemObjects Software to give can be found throughout this privacy policy. So can information about specific rights, like access, rectification, erasure, data portability, and objection to automated decision-making.
You can see all data we have collected and associated with your website account on the Account Details page in the user portal (login needed).
You can see your online forum account data at any time by visiting your account page on the forum. Your account page also lists your posts and other activity on the forum, and includes a link to download all of your activity in standard comma-separated values format.
You can change your website account data or request your website account to be deleted at Account Details (login needed). Note that deleting your account will void any access to RemObjects product licenses you may have purchased, and make you ineligible for reduced upgrade pricing.
You can change your online forum account data at any time by visiting the profile settings page for your account. Closing your account starts a process of erasing or anonymizing our records of data you provided for your account. Forum administrators can also erase and anonymize accounts upon request. You are also able to edit, anonymize, or erase your posts. When you edit posts, We will keep all versions of your posts. Forum administrators can view old versions of posts, and optionally make them visible to other forum visitors upon request.
Our forum classifies posts as spam automatically. We use data about your posts and other activity on many forums to make automated decisions about whether posts to are spam. If you think a post has been wrongly blocked or removed, contact a forum administrator, they can override the decision that a post was spam.
Our forum uses data about posts and activity to set trust levels automatically. The forum may use data about your posts and activity to award you badges and calculate a trust level for your account. Your trust level may affect how you can participate in the forum, such as whether you can upload images, as well as give you access to moderation and management powers in the forum. Your trust level therefore reflects forum administrators’ confidence in you, and their willingness to delegate community management functions, like moderation. If you think your trust level has been set incorrectly, contact an administrator of your forum. They can manually adjust the trust level of your account.
RemObjects Software does not sell or give information about you to other companies or services. However, RemObjects Software does use services from other companies for some of the services that it hosts. The companies behind those services may collect data about you on their own, for their own purposes. Some of these services may be used to collect information about your online activities across different websites. All of these services are based in the United States.
Other individuals and companies may also reuse data about you that RemObjects Software publishes, such as your posts to public forums.
Our websites or products may contain links to other sites. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. Note that these external sites are not operated by us.
